OFFIDA is a very ancient town, lying in the middle of the hilly belt between Tronto and Tesino Rivers, 293 m. above sea level high.with the ancient boundary walls, also the fortress and Santa Maria della Rocca (St. Mary of the Rock) Abbey, one of the most important romanesque-gothic monument throughout the whole Marche region, still remain. A curiosity of this monument is a sculptured lamb on one of the steps of the stairs going down into the cript; according to a folk saying it brings luck to visitors.pillow lace making, dating back to 1400 and handed on from mother to daughter, is an excellence of local handicraft.
