Fermo, was one of the most prosperous centres in Marche region in Roman and Middle Age times. Nowadays it still has a Rainassance town establishment that allows its visitors to walk from the principal del Popolo Square along many tours marked by many chucrches, noble mansions, courtyards and artistic doorways.

It houses a Picture Gallery and one of the most famous Libraries in Itally for its inheritage of anceient books and the "Globe Hall”.

Its undergruond shelters one of the most important Roman water tanks system on the Augustan Age in the world, nowadays still working.

Each year on the 15th of August along via del mare the historical recalling Cavalcata dell'Assunta takes place with its procession of 650 figurants and the horse races.
